About Science of Rowing

Science of Rowing is a resource for coaches and rowers of all levels who want to learn practical takeaways from academic research on rowing training and performance.

Each month, rowing strength coaches Will Ruth, Blake Gourley, and Joe DeLeo read across dozens of academic journals for rowing research, deliver summaries and key takeaways from the most relevant articles, discuss experience and practice via audio roundtables, and provide supporting video and graphic content to help move the knowledge into application.

Members receive an email with the latest issue on the first Monday of each month. Each new issue includes:

  • Three research reviews on rowing training, strength training, injuries, performance factors, and other topics you can put to use right away
  • Video & graphic summaries and additional information to help put the knowledge into practice
